let the sunshine in

the lightest color in the color wheel, as close to gold as it gets, spiritually speaking an "enlightened" and happy little pigment (yellow is actually considered a sacred color in the hindu religion).  a calming, mellow yellow may be its most popular claim, but yellow also has the power to energize both aesthtically and emotionally.  picture it against dark woods or worn antique moldings.  it works well as a strong contrast but like a long day in the sun, too much will burn you out.  optimstically applied as an accent wall, door, throw pillow, couch- the idea should be warmth not intensity.  here are a few bright ideas for bringing just enough yellow into your spectrum...
